A Foundation of Craftsmanship
Founder Lee Barker's career began as an apprentice carpenter in New England restoring centuries-old homes. After 16 years in the remodeling and new home business, Lee returned to Norther Colorado where he worked as a supervisor and manager for a prominent area homebuilder before establishing his own company, Lee Barker Builder, in 2005
Lee's continuing education and commitment to high performance homes have earned him a reputation as one of the leaders in green building. His pioneering work was recognized when he was inducted into the Built Green Hall of Fame and honored by Larimer County for his professionalism in green building and development
Continuing the Legacy
In 2012, Lee's son Alex joined the company, working side-by-side with his father to learn both the craft of custom home building and the intricacies of business management.
Over the years, Alex has mastered the details of building custom homes while developing strong relationships with a reliable network of subcontractors. This collaboration enables the delivery of quality crafted, meticulous homes that exceed client expectations.
Following in his father's footsteps, Alex has immersed himself in building science and the delivery of high-performance homes with superior energy efficiency. Whether implementing geothermal heath pumps, super insulation, or conventional high efficiency HVAC systems, Alex has accumulated hands-on experience across all aspects of sustainable building over the past dozen years.
As Alex aptly puts it: "We pride ourselves on combining old world craftsmanship with sustainable, eco-friendly and modern building materials into an efficient, eco-friendly house that you can call 'home'."
